Cartografia é um acontecimento artístico que se volta ao público e seu espaço. No saguão do Teatro Guaíra, os espectadores são convidados a assistir as cenas do espaço público ao mesmo tempo que escutam uma narrativa em seus fones de ouvido. Eles fruem a paisagem urbana em seu movimento espontâneo e também por meio das intervenções de artistas infiltrados. O áudio acompanhado fornece chaves para relações de atenção.
Aqui, o espaço público é campo de observação pela disputa por mais espaço e por mais público. Cartografia, como obra de arte, percebe a si mesma como partícipe da competição. Então, a busca é por desconstruir os modos usuais de concorrência por atenção que estruturam um imaginário coletivo e formas da percepção.
O acontecimento integra a programação da Bienal Internacional de Curitiba em seu Circuito de Galerias. É um dos fragmentos da Obra em Progresso, projeto que dialoga com o livro Finnegans Wake de James Joyce e que já apresentou as performances Streaming (via Facebook) e Sobreposição (na Airez Galeria). Cartografia dá segmento à pesquisa de formas de relação com o espectador através de novas utilizações de espaços e dispositivos.
Para participar, cada espectador deve trazer seu fone de ouvido e dispositivo de captação de rádio FM (como player ou celular).

Now it’s cartography
Cartography is an artistic event that turned to the public and its space. In the lobby of the Guaíra Theater, spectators are invited to watch the scenes of public space while listening to a narrative in their headphones. They enjoy the urban landscape in their spontaneous movement and also through the interventions of infiltrated artists. Accompanied audio provides keys to the attention.
Here, the public space is a field of observation for the dispute for more space and more public. Cartography, as a work of art, perceives itself as a participant in the competition. So the search is for deconstructing the usual modes of competition for attention that frame a collective imaginary and forms of perception.
The event is part of the International Biennial of Curitiba in its Circuit de Galleries. It is one of the fragments of the Work in Progress, a project that dialogues with James Joyce’s Finnegans Wake and has already presented the performances Streaming (via Facebook) and Overlay (at Airez Gallery). Cartography gives segment to the search of forms of relation with the viewer through new uses of spaces and devices.
To participate, each viewer must bring their headset and FM radio pickup device (such as player or cell phone).
